ROB GARRETT’S “King of Diamonds” LAS VEGAS SHOW RESIDENCY keeps going strong in the “Modern Showrooms Las Vegas” at ALEXIS PARK HOTEL.
The legendary Neil Diamond is one of the greatest and most admired singer/songwriters in contemporary pop-rock music history.
Besides being one of the biggest selling and most successful live artists ever, he’s also written and recorded the songs of a generation — including some of the most famous songs on the planet.
In early 2018, shortly before his 77th year, Neil Diamond announced his retirement from performing after being diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease.
However, Diamond’s live performance legacy continues to be kept alive for audiences across the globe through Las Vegas entertainer Rob Garrett, known as America’s premier Neil Diamond tribute performer.
Ask Siri “who is the best Neil Diamond tribute artist,” and you’ll always hear Rob Garrett.
Like his idol, Rob Garrett was a Brooklyn, New York native.
In May 1974, his parents moved the family from New York City to Las Vegas, where, two years later, he witnessed his first live Neil Diamond show when Diamond debuted in Las Vegas to record crowds at the Aladdin Hotel’s “Theater for the Performing Arts” in July 1976.
Garrett went on to see him another 16 times across the country—right up until Diamond’s last American show at the Los Angeles Forum on August 12, 2017.
In 1980, Garrett formed his own band, “Rock n Roll Heaven,” and enjoyed a decade-and-a-half career in Las Vegas and across the nation before making the move from cover band frontman to a full-time tribute performer dedicated to one of his boyhood inspirations.
In 1995, Garrett was hand-picked by Paul Revere (of The Raiders) to portray Neil Diamond in the “Legends in Concert” show in Honolulu, Hawaii.
What Rob Garrett Neil Diamond Tribute Artist schedule 2025 was meant to be a short engagement turned into a three-year success.
By August 1998, Garrett was back in Vegas and continued to perform with “Legends” for another couple of years before deciding to create his own tribute production.
He began a steady touring schedule, building a large and loyal following along the way—earning the title “King of Diamonds Las Vegas.”
He continues to draw packed houses nationwide, often in venues fit for superstars.
Garrett has also received multiple accolades, including “Male Tribute Artist of the Year.”
“Since he (Diamond) announced his retirement, I’ve felt a strong sense of responsibility to keep his legacy alive for future generations. It’s something I never get tired of doing,” he said.
On May 19, 2025 officially proclaimed the date “Rob Garrett Day,” commemorating his 50 years living in Las Vegas and 44 years as a professional Vegas performer.
Now in 2025, Garrett celebrates 45 years as an active Las Vegas entertainer, with the last 30 years devoted solely to paying tribute to the now-retired Neil Diamond.
It has been said that no other tribute artist is so closely identified with the original performer as Garrett, who has played in more Vegas rooms than any peer.
Since the June closing of “A Beautiful Noise” (the Broadway jukebox musical based on Diamond’s life story), Rob Garrett’s “King of Diamonds” show has become the only continuous Neil Diamond tribute in the U.S..
The Alexis Park Resort is located at 375 E. Harmon Ave., near the Las Vegas Strip.
